Meet Céline Broussard: a featured artist at Galerie 16

Her intuitive practice begins without a plan, allowing texture and form to emerge naturally through gesture and negative painting. Each piece is a quiet dialogue between matter, instinct and emotion.

About Céline

English:

Painting and sculpting began as a form of quiet therapy — a meditative retreat — and gradually evolved into a deeply intuitive practice. Rather than starting with a fixed plan, she begins with a feeling. Working first on background textures and depth, she allows shapes to emerge organically, guided by the painting itself.

Using techniques such as negative painting — preserving forms from the original ground while developing the surrounding space — she brings her subjects into quiet focus. Each work becomes an unexpected encounter between gesture, material and instinct.
