Galerie 16 is operated by the Cercle d'Artistes, a French non-profit association (Association Loi 1901) dedicated to supporting artistic creation, promoting cultural exchange and enriching community life through the visual arts.

The Association is governed by an elected committee in accordance with its statutes and is officially registered with the Préfecture des Deux-Sèvres.

Galerie 16 is run entirely by volunteers, whose commitment makes it possible to provide a welcoming exhibition space for artists and visitors alike.

As a not-for-profit organisation, all resources are used exclusively to support the Association's cultural activities and the operation of the gallery. Voluntary donations help meet essential operating costs, including insurance, website hosting and administrative expenses. The Association's accounts are maintained in accordance with French legal requirements and are presented annually to members for approval at the Annual General Meeting.

Galerie 16 does not buy or sell works of art on behalf of artists. All purchases are arranged directly between the exhibiting artist and the purchaser, and the Association receives no commission on artwork sales.

The gallery provides an inclusive and welcoming environment where artists can exhibit their work, visitors can discover contemporary art, and the wider community can engage through exhibitions, talks, workshops and other cultural events. Admission is free, and everyone is welcome.
