Originally from Burgundy and now living in the Vienne region for more than twenty-five years, Ginka is a self-taught pastel artist whose work explores the relationships between the living world, memory and transmission through a sensitive approach to drawing and material.
Her artist’s name refers to the Ginkgo biloba, an ancient tree symbolising resilience, peace and wisdom. It reflects the quiet presence that underpins her artistic practice.
Her parents passed on more than inspiration—they taught her a way of looking: an appreciation of nature, simple gestures and the beauty found in everyday life. This legacy continues to nourish her work today.
Rooted in a lifelong interest in the natural world, Ginka’s practice is grounded in observation and contemplation. Dry pastel, Indian ink, watercolour and gold leaf come together in compositions where light, softness and subtle traces create a delicate dialogue.
After twenty-five years working in education and training, a significant turning point in 2022 led her to embrace what had always inspired her—to continue transmitting meaning, this time through her artwork.
Since 2023, Ginka has exhibited regularly in salons, galleries and heritage venues. Her work reflects on what remains: the memory of a gesture, the imprint of those we love, and the fragile beauty of the living world. Originaire de Bourgogne et installée dans la Vienne depuis plus de vingt-cinq ans, Ginka est une artiste pastelliste autodidacte. Son travail explore les liens entre le vivant, la mémoire et la transmission à travers une approche sensible du dessin et de la matière.
Son nom d’artiste fait écho au Ginkgo biloba, arbre millénaire symbole de résilience, de paix et de sagesse, dont la présence accompagne discrètement sa démarche artistique.
Ses parents lui ont transmis un regard : une attention au vivant, aux gestes simples et à la beauté des petites choses. Cet héritage nourrit aujourd’hui toute sa création.
Profondément inspirée par la nature, elle associe pastel sec, encre de Chine, aquarelle et feuille d’or dans des compositions où lumière, douceur et effacement dialoguent avec délicatesse.
Après vingt-cinq années consacrées à la formation, un tournant de vie en 2022 lui révèle une évidence : poursuivre sa vocation de transmission, désormais à travers ses œuvres.
Depuis 2023, Ginka expose régulièrement dans des salons, des galeries et des lieux patrimoniaux. Ses créations interrogent ce qui demeure : la mémoire d’un geste, l’empreinte des êtres aimés et la beauté fragile du vivant.
