Laura was born in West Sussex in the United Kingdom. In 2001 she moved with her family to La Creuse in the Limousin region of France, before relocating to the village of Saint-Fraigne in Charente in 2023.

Her artistic inspiration comes directly from the natural landscapes that surround her — fields, hedgerows, meadows and woodland. Working as a mixed-media artist with an abstract-impressionist sensibility, Laura builds textured surfaces and natural palettes that reflect the quiet movement and harmony of the landscape.  “Art is a connection, a feeling, and in my paintings I hope to transport you to a place of calm, relaxation and beauty.”

Careful observation of nature lies at the heart of her practice. The delicate structure of wild plants, the movement of grasses in the wind, and the changing colours of the seasons all inform her work.

“To sit and study the detail that a proud standing cow parsley or the humble dandelion displays is truly fascinating. To lie in a meadow on a summer’s day listening to the busy insects and feeling the warmth of the sun is complete relaxation. As you walk through a field, brush your hand through the soft grasses, feel the texture of leaves and flowers, and notice how the seasons bring new colours and scents.”

Through colour, texture and atmosphere, Laura seeks to share this connection with the natural world and invite the viewer into a moment of calm and reflection.

Laura est née dans le West Sussex au Royaume-Uni. En 2001, elle s’installe avec sa famille dans la Creuse, en région Limousin, avant de s’installer en 2023 dans le village de Saint-Fraigne en Charente.

Son inspiration artistique provient directement de la nature qui l’entoure — champs, haies, prairies et sous-bois. Artiste travaillant en techniques mixtes avec une sensibilité entre abstraction et impressionnisme, Laura développe des surfaces texturées et des palettes naturelles qui reflètent le mouvement et l’harmonie du paysage.  « L’art est une connexion, un ressenti, et à travers mes peintures j’espère vous transporter vers un lieu de calme, de détente et de beauté. »

L’observation attentive de la nature est au cœur de sa démarche. La délicatesse des plantes sauvages, le mouvement des herbes dans le vent et les variations de lumière au fil des saisons nourrissent son travail.  « S’asseoir et observer les détails d’un cerfeuil sauvage fier et élancé ou d’un simple pissenlit est fascinant. S’allonger dans une prairie lors d’une journée d’été, écouter le bourdonnement des insectes et sentir la chaleur du soleil est pour moi un moment de détente absolue. En marchant dans un champ, laissez votre main effleurer les herbes, sentez la texture des feuilles et des fleurs, respirez l’air et observez comment les saisons apportent de nouvelles couleurs et de nouveaux parfums. »

À travers la couleur, la texture et l’atmosphère, Laura cherche à partager cette connexion avec la nature et à offrir au regardeur un moment de calme et de contemplation.
